Important information for travelers to Varna and Burgas!
If you are planning a domestic flight from Sofia Airport, it is advisable to be at the airport 2 hours before your departure. From now on, flights will be served from gates located in the inner part of Terminal 2.
This means that you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the shops, restaurants and business lounge located in Terminal 2 before your journey.

The Occupational Health and Safety Management System of SOF Connect AD has been certificated by Airports Council International (ACI).

SOF Connect AD is certified according to the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) receiving certificates for three standards: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management),  ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management) and  ISO 45001:2018 (Health and Safety Management System).

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certificates guarantee that all activities performed by SOF Connect AD are directed towards effective resource management, health and safety management system at workplace and constant improvement of service quality focused on satisfying customer needs.

SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport, is now certified at Level 4 Transformation of the Airport Carbon Accreditation Programme of ACI. Sofia Airport is the first airport in Bulgaria accredited at this level and is one of 9 European airports at Level 4.

Sustainable development is the top priority for SOF Connect. The Level 4 accreditation confirms the company’s commitment to the implementation of the ESG strategy and reduction of its carbon footprint in line with global climate goals.

Sofia Airport reaffirms its commitment to passengers and visitors to offer services in accordance with the latest hygiene and health standards. Following the pandemic summer of 2021, this is the second time that the capital’s airport has been certified as a Safe Health Environment by Airports Council International (ACI). The certification is based on the procedures of reputable international organisations such as ICAO and EASA, and also takes into account the best practices of health organisations in the European Union.

The certification recognises Sofia Airport’s efforts in implementing hygiene and organisational practices to ensure the health and safety of passengers, guests and employees. Activities such as cleaning and disinfection, provision of social distance, health surveillance, active communication of implemented measures among stakeholders are just some of the airport practices that have entered the scope of the assessment process.

 

The applied ISO standards cover the entire range of activities carried out by Sofia Airport as an airport operator in accordance with the Civil Aviation Act,

including other activities performed by the company such as ground handling, commercial activities, rental of premises and facilities, and other fixed tangible assets.
