New Terminal 3

In 8 years Sofia Airport will have a new terminal, which is in line with SOF Connect’s commitment to the Bulgarian state. Its construction will take place in several phases, which will initially provide a phased increase in the capacity of the existing Terminal 2 in line with passenger traffic forecasts.

The future of Terminal 1

The concessionaire’s strategy for a 5-star regional airport is inseparable from the new functionality of Terminal 1.

Terminal 2 – once its complete redevelopment is complete, will take over the air traffic, while the almost 70-year-old Terminal 1 building will have a new purpose – a location for business and VIP aviation. This concept includes preserving the authentic look of the terminal as part of its cultural and aviation heritage.

New destinations and new airlines

SOF Connect is actively engaged in the development of the flight network and in attracting new airlines to offer more opportunities for travel to and from the capital’s airport. Negotiations have already started to launch nearly 100 new routes and a strong argument is the competitive airport charges which, combined with the country’s geographical location, cultural and historical assets – all these are a powerful incentive to grow the flight network.

New logo and new visual identity

At the beginning of the summer the capital’s airport presented a logo that combines tradition and new horizons.

The message the logo conveys is new horizons on the way to transforming the capital’s airport into a 5-star regional airport. In line with the new visual identity, a complete rebranding is underway.
