Important information for travelers to Varna and Burgas!
If you are planning a domestic flight from Sofia Airport, it is advisable to be at the airport 2 hours before your departure. From now on, flights will be served from gates located in the inner part of Terminal 2.
This means that you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the shops, restaurants and business lounge located in Terminal 2 before your journey.

AIRBALTIC EXPANDS IN BULGARIA, LAUNCHES DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM SOFIA TO RIGA

The Latvian airline airBaltic announces further expansion in Bulgaria by launching three times weekly flights and connecting the Bulgarian capital to its home base in Riga, Latvia. This marks the airline’s first route from Sofia Airport (SOF), and the launch was celebrated in a special event held together with local stakeholders, passengers, and media representatives.

Thomas Ramdahl, SVP Network Management at airBaltic: “We are excited to strengthen our presence in Bulgaria and to launch our first route from Sofia to the vibrant city of Riga – the home of airBaltic. We are grateful to our partners at Sofia Airport for their collaboration on this and are looking forward to offering the local travellers the opportunity to visit and experience this gem of the Baltics.”

Jesus Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect, operator of Sofia Airport: “We welcome airBaltic’s decision to launch direct flights to Riga from Sofia Airport. Through them, Bulgarians will have the opportunity to reach all Baltic and Scandinavian airports with just one transfer. Three weekly flights will be operated on this route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, offering passengers two service classes – Economy and Business Class. The ticket prices are starting from EUR 89 (Economy Class) and EUR 345 (Business Class) one-way.
