Mr. Jesus Caballero, the new CEO of SOF Connect together with the management team welcomed passengers from the first flight, among which was the famous actor Kevin Bacon. After five months halt the airline flies again between Sofia and the biggest London airport – Heathrow. Jesus Caballero noted that the return of British Airways is very important for Sofia Airport. The management team is working hard for flight resumption, closer cooperation with airlines and improved passenger experience.
The first flight landed with more than 180 passengers on board, which is a proof for the interest to the destination. Airbus A320 Neo is a new generation aircraft with less CO2 emissions and significantly quieter engine, which correspond to SOF Connect vision for environment friendly policy and socially responsible management.
In a festive atmosphere Jesus Caballero, Joseph Bou Nader – Deputy CEO, Dr. Henning Pfisterer – Chief Operating Officer and Christian Stoschek – Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Director Ground Handling personally welcomed passengers with Bulgarian roses.
Emil Delibashev – Commercial manager of British Airways for Bulgaria and Eastern Europe confirmed that in July, flights to the British capital will be on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays. In August the airline plans to increase its flights to the destination.
