Vasil Levski Sofia Airport received the highest industry recognition – winning the ACI EUROPE Award for Best Airport in Europe in the category of 5 to 10 million passengers.
The prestigious award highlights the remarkable transformation led by SOF Connect at Bulgaria’s capital airport in a very short period, as well as the company’s ambitious plans for its sustainable development.

Grozdan Karadjov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications, sent a congratulatory address for the award to the SOF Connect team.

The awards are presented annually by ACI EUROPE, and the winners are selected by an independent and reputable jury of top industry leaders, including representatives from the European Commission, EUROCONTROL, the International Transport Workers’ Federation – ITF, the European Civil Aviation Conference – ECAC, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency – EASA, and the technological arm of the EU’s Single European Sky initiative – SESAR JU, among others.
ACI EUROPE represents over 600 airports in 55 countries, handling more than 95% of commercial air traffic in Europe. Air transport supports 14 million jobs and generates €851 billion in European economic activity (5% of GDP).
