FLYING FROM SOFIA TO YEREVAN FROM APRIL WITH WIZZ AIR

Direct flights from Sofia Airport to Yerevan, Armenia, start on 29 April. Tickets are now on sale from low-cost carrier Wizz Air, and the days on which flights will operate until mid-June are Wednesdays and Sundays, and after 12 June – Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The Armenian capital is another new destination from Sofia after Wizz Air deployed a seventh aircraft at the capital’s airport late last year. This has opened the possibility of new destinations such as Stockholm, Hamburg and Riyadh and increased frequencies on 11 existing routes to and from Sofia. In addition, Ryanair will start flights to Wroclaw from 27 March and Norwegian Air Shuttle to Oslo from 24 June.

The capital’s airport authority recalled that it is implementing a program to increase the capital’s flight connectivity, with new airlines such as ITA, Pegasus, Sky Express and Norwegian Air Shuttle already attracted, while negotiations for more than 80 new destinations continue with traditional and low-cost carriers.

“Expanding the flight network is important to us because it not only develops the airport and airlines, but also directly helps local businesses grow. We believe that our excellent cooperation with Wizz Air can also be developed with our other partners,” commented Airport CEO Jesus Caballero on the new route.
