GBS WILL BUILD OPEN PARKING LOTS AT SOFIA AIRPORT FOR BGN 5 MILLION

Sofia Airport signed a contract for the construction of 3 temporary and 1 permanent outdoor parking lots with Glavbolgarstroy. The company was selected in a competitive tender procedure with international participation and the contract value is just over BGN 5 million, the airport said. The selected contractor has solid construction experience, and is expected to complete the car parks in no more than 247 days after construction begins. The open-air car parks will have a capacity of 100 to 500 spaces and some of them will cover the needs of passengers while renovation of the Terminal 2 covered car park, which has been in poor condition for years, is underway. The car parks must meet all modern requirements including those for people with reduced mobility.

“The contract for the open car park is a step in improving the airport’s infrastructure, which everyone has been waiting for. The temporary car parks will allow us to maintain passenger convenience while we refurbish the covered car park, which has been in a bad state for years,” said airport CEO Jesus Caballero on the construction contract.
