Important information for travelers to Varna and Burgas!
If you are planning a domestic flight from Sofia Airport, it is advisable to be at the airport 2 hours before your departure. From now on, flights will be served from gates located in the inner part of Terminal 2.
This means that you will have the opportunity to take advantage of the shops, restaurants and business lounge located in Terminal 2 before your journey.

KENYA, CANARY ISLANDS AND ABU DHABI IN SOFIA AIRPORT WINTER SCHEDULE FROM 31 OCTOBER

Direct flights to more than 70 destinations

For the first time, travellers from Sofia Airport will be able to enjoy an exotic holiday in the tourist pearl of Kenya – Mombasa. Flights start on 29 January and will be operated by European Air Charter.

The same airline will fly to Aswan, Egypt and Zanzibar once a week from December to February, and to Cairo from 6 November. There will also be flights to the Egyptian capital with the airline BHAir. They start from 3 November.

Another tempting offer for winter holidays is the Canary Islands. Flights to the popular destination start on 3 November and will be operated once a week by Smartwings.

A new route for the winter season is the capital of the United Arab Emirates – Abu Dhabi, known for its diverse tourist offerings. Wizz air has said it will fly there twice a week from 18 January.

A highlight of the winter programme is Qatar Airways’ direct Doha-Sofia flights, which start from 16 December. Qatar’s Hamad Airport, recognised as this year’s best airport, expands the options available from Sofia to destinations such as the Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Singapore, South Africa and more.

The winter schedule also includes Azur Air, a new airline for the capital’s airport, which will start its flights on the Sofia – Kiev route from 26 December. They will operate twice a week – on Thursdays and Sundays.

Sofia Airport and Nordwind airline provide opportunities to travel to a new destination – Rostov-on-Don, the largest city in south-west Russia. There will be flights every Saturday from 15 January 2022.

Ryanair is reinstating some of its pre-pandemic flights, adding holiday offers for travellers from Sofia to Aqaba (Jordan), Paphos (Cyprus) and Treviso (Italy). A new route for the airline is Naples, while the destinations of Zagreb, Catania, Bari, Bologna and Budapest will continue to operate in winter.

The winter charter program also includes one of the favorite destinations for Bulgarians – Hurghada, Egypt. Several airlines have planned flights there. They start from 31 October and will continue until January inclusive.

There is interest in our country and winter resorts from the British. London and 6 other English cities will offer direct flights to Sofia airport this winter.
