Sofia Airport’s employees, in direct touch with passengers will receive new uniforms. The airport operator SOF Connect signed a contract with the Bulgarian company “Kosara-R” Ltd., worth more than 630 000 BGN excluding VAT for their manufacture. The clothing is for security and ground handling staff, passenger assistants, information and travel agents, drivers and maintenance staff.
“Employees are the face of the airport so it is important that they feel comfortable and work with confidence. The new clothing gives a presentable appearance and reinforces the company affiliation. This is a small but significant step towards improving the passenger experience,” said JesΓΊs Caballero, CEO of Sofia Airport.
The new uniforms are tailored to the specific business. To find the most comfortable and practical option, the choice of clothing was discussed with the airport’s employees and trade unions, and their recommendations were taken into account.
The Bulgarian company “Kosara-R” EOOD, with more than 25 years of experience, has been engaged to produce the new uniforms, using fabrics produced in Bulgarian factories in Sliven and its sewing workshop is located in Smolyan. Its completed products are sold on markets in Bulgaria and abroad. The company was selected among 7 applications in an open tender procedure, with the fact that the manufacturer works with Bulgarian fabrics and provides employment for Bulgarians in the country being a significant factor in the selection.
The first uniforms will be received in the next two months. The last time airport employees received uniforms was more than 9 years ago. It is planned to replace additional units every year in the future.
