Sofia Airport and the Greek company Hellenic Telecommunications organization S.A. (OTE S.A) signed a contract for the implementation of a completely new ERP system for the needs of the airport.
The ERP or Enterprise Resource Planning system is an important part of the digital transformation automating some of the airport’s core processes, which were previously performed manually. The implementation of ERP will lead to the optimization of activities related to the account receivables, cash collection, inventory and procurement management e-auction and related operations. The system allows for the automation of operational and financial flows within the company, as well as those to customers and contractors – for example, goods deliveries, order processing, cash payments and much more. The new system will also enable the digitalization of information flows within the company, as well as provide tools for managing stakeholder relations.
The new system is part of the airport’s digital transformation plan, which also includes a systems, applications and hardware upgrades worth more than €5 million. The implementation of 3 more key IT systems – the Airport Operations Management System (AOMS), the Enterprise Resource Management System (ERP) and Human Resource Management System (HRMS)- will start in the coming months, the airport added.
“We are progressing in the digital transformation of the airport and ERP is an important part of that. The main operations management system is also going to be changed, because until now many processes here have been done manually. In fact, we have the chance to move from paper-based processes, directly to the most advanced IT solutions and we will take advantage of this to make the airport more modern and convenient for passengers and employees“, said the airport’s CEO Jesus Caballero on signing the contract.
