REPUTABLE COMPANIES IN THE RUN FOR SOFIA AIRPORT RESTAURANTS

SOF Connect invited a competitive number of international as well as local Food and Beverage players to participate in a tender for restaurants, bars and other food and beverage concepts on an area of nearly 3 400 sq. m at the Тerminal 2. The terms of the tender foresee a complete transformation of the available space and among the novelties will be an entirely new Food Court area grouping international and local food, an outdoor terrace with beautiful view and a dedicated smoking area and many other amenities for passengers at the capital’s airport.

Last week the operator of the capital’s airport sent invitations to Bulgarian and global brands with proven experience in the field to present their financial proposals for new food and beverage outlets at the airport. The companies have received detailed technical information based on which to express interest in participating in the tender and to prepare bids. The bids are expected to be submitted by end of August 2022. The winner of the tender will be announced in Q4 2022.

The food and beverage area operator selection process aims to provide attractive business opportunities for a wide range of participants and guiding principle for the selection will be to provide passengers and guests with enhanced airport experience through variety of food and beverage outlets offers.

“We expect from this project not only to improve the customer experience, but also to provide recognition of the Bulgarian airport through its food and beverage concept and especially through the quality of the service offered. Our passengers deserve 5-star quality in the food and beverage area, and this is part of our overall vision for Sofia Airport as a 5-star regional airport,” says Jesús Caballero, CEO of the airport.

We remind you that in April the Sofia Airport, operated by SOF Connect, chose Dufry as the operator of its duty-free shops. Dufry came in after an international tender process where the top 3 retailers participated. Dufry will operate stores on a total retail space of 1,433 sq. m. They are a global company that will provide a high-quality service and change the perception of the shopping areas. The change, which has already begun, is part of a major transformation of Sofia Airport of which the new food and beverage outlets will be a part.
