The two organizations will work with the government for a relaxed visa regime
The managements of the National Board of Tourism (NBT) and SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport, will work together to promote Bulgaria as an attractive tourist destination. At a meeting today between Krasimir Gergov, Chairman of the Board, Martin Zahariev, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Polly Karastoyanova, Executive Director of NBT, Prof. Stoyan Denchev and Jesús Cabajero, CEO of SOF Connect and his team, an agreement was reached for the two parties to join efforts to develop a sustainable tourism industry and promote Bulgaria as an attractive destination.
The two organizations also agreed to work with the government to ease and digitize visa procedures for non-EU citizens, which will significantly increase tourists to Bulgaria and encourage airlines to open new routes to Sofia.
The parties also agreed on the need to work together towards a unified communication of Bulgaria’s brand and the importance of how Sofia Airport welcomes its visitors as the country’s main entry point.
The development of new flight destinations of the capital’s airport will be thoroughly discussed with the tourism industry in the future, thus significantly increasing efficiency, it also became clear at the meeting.
