SOFIA AIRPORT BUYS 64 ELECTRIC VEHICLES

Sofia Airport has announced procurement for the purchase of 64 electric vehicles. The airport operator, SOF Connect, is renewing the obsolete vehicles it has been using, which are needed for all airport operations, while also supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The new vehicles are for specific activities in the daily operation of the airport and are of different varieties – cars, cargo vans, van-types, etc., which will be used in the so-called ground handling services. The new vehicles will improve the efficiency of operations but are also part of Sofia Airport’s long-term carbon neutrality program.

“Care for the environment is among our key priorities. We are working on a long-term program of carbon neutrality and the purchase of these vehicles is part of our efforts for a sustainable future,” said airport CEO JesΓΊs Caballero.
