SOFIA AIRPORT HAS BEEN HEALTH ACCREDITED

Sofia Airport reaffirms its commitment to passengers and visitors to offer services in accordance with the latest hygiene and health standards. Following the pandemic summer of 2021, this is the second time that the capital’s airport has been certified as a Safe Health Environment by Airports Council International (ACI). The certification is based on the procedures of reputable international organisations such as ICAO and EASA, and also takes into account the best practices of health organisations in the European Union.

The certification recognises Sofia Airport’s efforts in implementing hygiene and organisational practices to ensure the health and safety of passengers, guests and employees. Activities such as cleaning and disinfection, provision of social distance, health surveillance, active communication of implemented measures among stakeholders are just some of the airport practices that have entered the scope of the assessment process.

“We treat the airport environment with care and strive to be a safe place with daily care for passengers. The certification by ACI is recognition of these efforts” said JesΓΊs Caballero, CEO of Sofia Airport.
