SOFIA AIRPORT IS LOOKING FOR AN ERP SYSTEM PROVIDER

Sofia Airport has announced a tender procedure for the “Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System”. In the first stage, expressions of interest from Bulgarian and international IT companies are expected, with a deadline of 2 December 2022. Interested potential suppliers will be invited to submit bids.

The new ERP system is an important part of the digital transformation of the airport’s still manual processes. The ERP implementation will lead to the optimization of many activities related to resource management, cash, inventory and related processes. The system allows for the automation of operational and financial commitments within the company, as well as those to customers and contractors – for example, goods deliveries, order processing, cash payments and much more.

The new system, seen as a mandatory element of the airport’s transformation plan, will enable the integration and digitisation of information flow within the company, as well as providing an effective mechanism for managing stakeholder relationships.

“The digitisation of the airport continues, and ERP is an important part of this. There is still a lot of upgrading of the core systems to be done because for a long time most of the processes here were done manually, which has taken Sofia Airport away from best practice in Europe. We will catch up with this gap in the next two years implementing comprehensive ICT master plan, which we are already implementing,” said Digital Transformation Director at SOF Connect Michail Senis.
