SOFIA AIRPORT IS VISIBLY CLEANER

Two weeks after the German company Dr. Sasse took over the cleaning of Sofia Airport, there has been a visible improvement in the hygiene of the terminals at the capital’s airport. According to passengers, the difference in cleanliness is obvious.

Since the arrival of the German company, a completely new process management model has been introduced, with foreign supervisors monitoring workload and efficiency. Access control and time attendance systems help make cleaning operations more efficient. Completely new dispensing devices for hygiene materials save nearly 40% of the cleaning chemicals previously used. Toilets, passenger’s halls, aircraft gates and other common areas of the terminals are cleaned much more frequently than before, and brand new machines are being used for this purpose, the airport adds. Staff responsible for cleanliness will undergo specialized training periodically.

In the short time that the new company has been cleaning the airport, the terminal windows have already been washed and cleaned, toilets, service and other areas have been deeply cleaned and the moquettes have been washed.

More high-tech solutions will be implemented in the coming months, including the use of specialized sensors and software to monitor the areas, as well as the latest robotic cleaning technologies.

“The positive change in cleanliness is visible and this is visible to passengers. This is an important step towards the better passenger experience that we are already creating at the airport,” said Henning Pfisterer, Chief Operating Officer at Sofia Airport.
