SOF Connect, the operator of Sofia Airport and Glavbolgarstroy Holding opened today the new car parks at Sofia Airport.
Jesús Caballero, CEO of SOF Connect and Emil Angelov, CEO and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Glavbolgarstroy Holding cut the ribbon on the new open car parks with a capacity of over 1000 lots. The facilities are located on an area of 25,000 m² which also include spaces for cars of people with reduced mobility and charging stations for electric vehicles. The project is worth more than BGN 7 million.
“The open-air car parks are a key project for us and is part of Sofia Airport’s modernization and development plan. With this project we are taking an important step towards creating a convenient, and efficient infrastructure to meet the different needs of travellers,” said Jesús Caballero.
“In the last six months we have managed to build 1045 new parking lots as well as the necessary infrastructure and facilities. We are grateful for the opportunity and proud to contribute to the modern outlook of Sofia Airport. It is with excitement and commitment that we head to the next challenge – the complete renovation of the multi-level car park. We are currently in the stage of preparation and organization to start the work.”, said Emil Angelov.
With a modern look and individual wayfinding, each new car park will be easily recognizable to facilitate traffic on the airport. The P3 or standard car park has been operational for a month and is suitable for both short and long-term stays. The P4 or economy car park was also opened today and will be a budget solution for longer stays. P5 is the short-term stopover car park for meeting and dropping off passengers and P8 is dedicated for buses coming to meet large groups.

The multi-level covered car park is now closed for renovation. The renovation will be carried out again by Glavbolgarstroy Holding and the project is worth BGN 25 mln.
